Marie Opoku Adomako is the Founder and Creative Director of SISIMARIE, a contemporary fashion house known for blending Ghanaian heritage with refined craftsmanship and modern elegance.
A graduate of Development Communication from the University for Development Studies, Marie’s entrepreneurial spirit emerged early, earning her the reputation of being a “jack of all trades.” Her journey into fashion began unexpectedly while serving as a Personal Assistant to the CEO of a prestigious fashion school. What started as curiosity soon became purpose.
While building a career in the media industry, Marie pursued fashion design training and completed her studies within six months, demonstrating the determination and discipline that would later define her brand. In 2016, she made the courageous decision to leave her media career and fully dedicate herself to her vision.
Today, through SISIMARIE, Marie creates garments that celebrate African identity through the lens of contemporary design. Guided by the brand’s signature Nkyimu philosophy, elegant French-inspired cuts, and a commitment to endless styling possibilities, her work empowers women to embrace both their heritage and their evolution.
Under her leadership, SISIMARIE has become recognized for its craftsmanship, attention to detail, innovation, and purpose-driven impact through initiatives such as Project KAWE, which supports rural mothers in Ghana with free maternity wear.
