Project Kawe is a social impact initiative by SISIMARIE, created to support pregnant women in underserved communities across Ghana.

We believe every woman deserves to experience pregnancy with dignity, comfort and care. Kawe uses thoughtfully designed maternity clothing as a starting point for engaging women, encouraging antenatal care and creating meaningful connections within communities.

MORE THAN MATERNITY WEAR

Kawe maternity outfits are designed around the changing needs of a woman’s body during pregnancy and beyond. Our garments provide comfort, adaptable fit and breastfeeding-friendly features, allowing mothers to continue using them after delivery.

But Project Kawe is about more than clothing.

Each outreach creates an opportunity to engage expectant mothers, support healthcare workers and reinforce the importance of maternal healthcare and antenatal attendance.

The garment is the starting point. The impact is the bigger picture.

KAWE IN ACTION

We have returned to the communities we serve because we believe meaningful impact is built through continued engagement, not one-off visits.

Amanase Health Center — Eastern Region

Across two visits, we provided 25 maternity outfits — 10 during our first visit and an additional 15 during our return.

Kansaworodo CHPS — Takoradi

Across two visits, we provided another 25 maternity outfits — 15 during our first visit and 10 during our second.

Across all four outreach visits, we have engaged 30+ beneficiaries per visit and supported and refreshed healthcare staff at each visit.

BEYOND THE OUTFIT

Our vision for Kawe extends beyond providing maternity wear.

As the initiative grows, we aim to introduce batik and textile training, partnerships with local tailors, income-generating opportunities, mentorship and skills development for women and girls.

We want Kawe to become a platform where maternal support can lead to greater confidence, opportunity and empowerment.

Because when we support a woman, the impact can reach far beyond her.
